ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
As cooperation under the Tier 1 programme could drive a timely humanitarian action amid emergency, the APTERR Secretariat therefore has been actively promoting and encouraging members to participate in this programme. Relative to this, the APTERR Secretariat recently took a role as a facilitator to organise the 2rd virtual meeting on an extension of the Tier 1 programme between the Philippines and Japan on 21 July 2021.
The APTERR Secretariat organised and facilitated the 1st meeting on an extension of the Tier 1 programme between the Philippines and Japan on 25 June 2021 via teleconference for a purpose of discussing on the important issues related the extension of the Tier 1 programme which will be terminated in coming October 2021.
A representative from the APTERR Secretariat, Ms. Nattavadee Sraprathum, Staff for Implementation, attended the 19th Virtual ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Focal Point Meeting on 22 – 23 June 2021 to enhance collaboration with the AFSIS and promote the APTERR’s activities during 2020 – 2021 together with its works related to the AFSIS.
The APTERR Secretariat led by Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager, participated in the 41st Meeting of the ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB) organised by the AFSRB Secretariat and hosted by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei Darussalam via virtual conference on 16 June 2021.
On 8 June 2021, the representatives from the APTERR Secretariat, Ms. Thortawan Thanormthin and Mr. Pirapat Shimphalee, participated in the Launch of the AADMER Work Programme 2021-2025 and the 6th AADMER Partnership Conference via a virtual conference. The meeting was organised by the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) and also attended by numerous distinguished delegates from ASEAN as well as the ACDM’s partners.
