ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
On 27 October 2020, the APTERR Secretariate led by Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager, attended the online farewell meeting for Mr. Aye Ko Ko, Deputy Director General of the Department of Agriculture (DOA), Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the APTERR Council member from Myanmar, who will be retired in November 2020.
On 5 August 2020, the APTERR Secretariat attended the Special Senior Officials Meeting of the 19th Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three (Special SOM-19th AMAF+3) via the video conference.
On 23 July 2020, the representatives from the APTERR Secretariat participated in the 40th Meeting of the ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB) via video conference at the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. The Meeting was organised by the AFSRB Secretariat and hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Viet Nam.
On 8 July 2020, the APTERR Secretariat led by Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager, attended online meeting with Ms. Fang Bing, the Counsellor, Ms. Mei Fang, Director for Functional Cooperation, and Mr. Wang Dongliang, the official of the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN to discuss on the APTERR mechanism. The meeting’s objectives were to improve understandings about APTERR and to collect information for possibly adopting as one of role models of the ASEAN Regional Reserve of Medical Supplies and Equipment (RRMSE).
The APTERR Secretariat attended the 18th ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Focal Point Meeting via the videoconference on 9 June 2020. Ms. Nattavadee Sraprathum, Staff for Implementation as the representative from the APTERR Secretariat took this opportunity to promote the APTERR’s activities and its informative products related to the AFSIS works, especially the Food Emergency Monitoring and Information (FEMI).
