Asean Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
The 21st East Asia Forum was successfully held in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, the People’s Republic of China (P.R. China) on 29 October 2023. The forum was hosted by Department of Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, P.R. China and was participated by distinguished delegates from the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) countries, Timor-Leste and related organisations: ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Secretariat.
The APTERR Secretariat attended a webinar held by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for addressing the imperative of enhancing food security in Southeast Asia on 20 October 2023 titled “Strengthening Food Security in Southeast Asia: Regional Cooperation, Market Development and Policy Reforms”.
The APTERR Secretariat team, led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, attended the meeting with the officers from Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) of the People’s Republic of China (P.R. China) on 17 September 2023 to discuss about the current update on Tier 3 programme under the P.R. China’s contribution and the preparation of the 12th Meeting of APTERR Council which will be held in 2024 with P.R. China as the host country.
