ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, welcomed Dr. Roehl M. Briones, Consultant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to the APTERR Secretariat office in Bangkok from 17 to 21 August 2026 for technical assistance aimed at improving APTERR’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enhancing the Food Emergency Monitoring and Information (FEMI) system to bolster APTERR’s capacity in addressing regional food security challenges.
The APTERR Secretariat attended the virtual Special Senior Officials Meeting of the twenty-fifth Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three (Special SOM-25th AMAF Plus Three) on 19 August 2026 to report the progress on APTERR operations.
On 23 July 2026, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, warmly welcomed delegates from Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting (MURC) Thailand and Bank of Ayudhya for a knowledge-sharing session on regional food security and sustainable development, while exploring potential areas for future cooperation.
During 24-25 June 2026, the 46th Meeting of ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board (AFSRB) was successfully held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The meeting was participated by ASEAN Member States (AMS) and other related organisations such as ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Secretariat, and APTERR Secretariat with the main focus on the food security situations among the AMS.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, together with Ms. Nattavadee Sraprathum, Technical Staff for Food Emergency Monitoring and Information (FEMI), virtually participated in the 24th ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Focal Point Meeting held on 17–18 June 2026. The meeting was organised by the AFSIS Secretariat and hosted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
