On 1 April 2026, the APTERR Secretariat team led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, Mr. Aro Kasakawa, Japanese Expert, together with Mr. Charapon Chantorn, Deputy AFSIS Manager from the AFSIS Secretariat, was invited to virtually attend the forum on the Report Launch: The Economic Impact of the Agri-Food Sector in Indonesia “Economic Insights: Unlocking Indonesia’s Agri-Food Powerhouse” hosted by the Food Industry Asia (FIA) and ASEAN Food and Beverage Alliance (AFBA). Apart from APTERR Secretariat, the meeting was attended by key speakers from various agri-food related organisations such as ASEAN Secretariat, Oxford Economics, Indonesian Food and Beverage Association (GAPMMI), Center of Sustainable Development (SDGs) of Padjajaran University, Ministry of National Development Planning and Ministry of Industry of Indonesia.
The forum focused on the updated 2026 Oxford Economics study highlighting the agri-food sectors’ evolving impact to trade, investment, and competitiveness in Indonesia and explored how Indonesia can leverage the sector to drive more growth and resilience in a rapidly changing regional economy.
