ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn together with Japanese Expert Mr. Toshiki Tojo and the APTERR staff visited the National Food Authority (NFA) of the Philippines in Quezon City on 23 March 2023.
On 22 March 2023, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn together with Japanese Expert Mr. Toshiki Tojo and the APTERR staff went inspection of 320 MT of rice contributed by Japan through the prepositioned stockpiled rice system under Tier 3 programme at the National Food Authority (NFA)-ACA warehouse in Valenzuela City, the Philippines.
The ceremonial turnover of the Republic of Korea ’s 400 MT of rice assistance through APTERR’s Tier 3 to people affected by severe floods and landslides in Region IX, X, and XII of the Philippines was held on 21 March 2023 in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental of Cagayan Ore City, the Philippines.
The APTERR Secretariat, led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager (GM), together with Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert, as well as the APTERR staff, visited Lao PDR during 13-16 March 2023 to monitor the distribution of Japan’s 300-MT rice contributed to support people affected by devastating floods and landslides and to discuss with various government and international humanitarian agencies in enhancing food security in the country.
On 22 December 2022, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat along with Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert, welcomed the representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry of Japan (MAFF-Japan) to the APTERR Secretariat office.
