On 9 November 2023, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of APTERR Secretariat and Mr. Akinori Ando, Japanese Expert, along with APTERR staff participated in the Inception Workshop “Regenerative Agriculture in ASEAN: Promoting Nature-Positive Solutions for Rice Production (REGA-ASEAN)” at the Asian Institute of Technology Conference Centre, Thailand.
This workshop was held in collaboration between the Rockefeller Foundation and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) which fosters sustainable agriculture in the ASEAN, specifically by endorsing regenerative practices in the rice production system in order to strengthen the food security in the region. This project will be implemented in 3 countries namely; Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand. The success of this initiative needs the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including farmer communities, academia/think tanks, agricultural cooperative members, Regen 10, government officials, and private sectors.
