As the APTERR Secretariat had emphasised on the development of human resources, the field study on rice cultivation and organic farming, therefore, was arranged during 2 – 4 September 2019 in the provinces of Kamphaengphet and Sukhothai. This provided real experience and concrete understanding on rice cultivation in local communities.

    

During the field trip, the staff members visited the Kamphaengphet Rice Seed Center to discuss and exchange views with the officials regarding the management of rice seeds in response to a demand of farmers as well as a reservation for the emergency period. Then, the group went to the Organic Agricultural Project in Sukhothai Airport, where they learned the significance of organic farming to support a sustainable agriculture in the local community. They also visited the Sukhothai Historical Park and Somsamai Gold to explore the glorious history and culture of Sukhothai, which was the first kingdom of Thailand.
