On 25 November 2024, the APTERR Council from Myanmar, Mr. Thura Soe, the Deputy Director General from Department of Agriculture (DOA), Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation (MOALI), and his team visit the APTERR Secretariat office to discuss on the implementation of Tier 3 programme. prospective cooperation.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, introduced delegates from DOA of Myanmar to the APTERR Secretariat office and all APTERR staff. Moreover, both sides had exchanged views and experiences on the APTERR programmes’ implementation in Myanmar, especially the Tier 3 programme which is the most active APTERR programme in response to the need of rice in the time of emergency.
Furthermore, Dr. Karnjanakesorn invited Mr. Chantanon Wannakejohn, Secretary General of the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) of Thailand to join the lunch meeting for further discussion on the food security in the region.
