ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
The APTERR Secretariat has considered the human resources development as one of essential key elements to support the achievement of the APTERR’s goals in strengthening food security in the ASEAN+3 region. Thus, the field study on an applied agriculture for sustainability was conducted during 29 - 31 August 2022 to provide the concrete understanding and sharpen competencies of its staff toward this issue.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, accompanied with Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert, and the APTERR staff, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia, and H.E. Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN, on 15 August 2022 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert of the APTERR Secretariat accompanied with Ms. Hiroko Matsuo, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Thailand and the APTERR staff visited the Thailand Rice Science Institute (TRSI) and the Large Scale Fields project in Doem Bang Nang Buat district, Suphan Buri province in Thailand on 2 March 2022.
On 25 March 2021, Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, received a farewell courtesy call from Mr. Nao Muramatsu, the outgoing First Secretary for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Embassy of Japan in Bangkok and, at the same time, welcomed Ms. Hiroko Matsuo, who is the successor of Mr. Muramatsu.
On 5 October 2020, the APTERR Secretariat led by Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager, had a courtesy visit to Mr. Chantanon Wannakejohn to express heartfelt congratulations on his new appointment as Secretary General of the Office of Agricultural and Economics (OAE). Mr. Chantanon also serves as the APTERR Council member of Thailand.
