Asean Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
On 15 September 2022, the APTERR Secretariat, led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager, together with Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert, as well as the APTERR staff visited the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) in Bangkok, Thailand. The purposes of the visit were to gain knowledges on IT technology regarding rice cultivation areas, natural disasters comprising floods and drought situation, weather forecast, climate change situation, and future cooperation between the APTERR and the GISTDA.
The APTERR Secretariat led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, was invited by the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) led by Dr. Cherdsak Virapat, Director General of CIRDAP to attend the 37th Technical Committee Meeting (TC-37) co-hosted by the CIRDAP and the Bureau of Foreign Agricultural Affair (BOFAA), National FAO Committee, Ministry of Agricultural and Cooperatives of Thailand during 9 – 12 September 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The APTERR Secretariat, on 24 August 2022, attended the Special Senior Officials Meeting of the 21st Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three (SSOM-21st AMAF+3) chaired by Indonesia. Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, reported the progress on the APTERR programmes and activities during 2021-2022 to the meeting.
