The APTERR Secretariat hosted the 3rd meeting on an experimental Tier 1 implementation between the Philippines and Japan at the office of the ATERR Secretariat in Bangkok, Thailand on 24 August 2018.
Representatives from the National Food Authority (NFA) of the Philippines led by Deputy Administrator for Marketing Operations Atty. Judy Carol L. Dansal, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan led by Director of Grain Trade and Operation Division Mr. Takaya Komine and the APTERR Secretariat led by General Manager Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee participated this significant meeting.
The main objective of the meeting was to continue the discussion on some critical issues, such as rice specification, payment, etc. The meeting was satisfied with the progress outcomes as those critical issues were smoothly settled. Next, both parties mutually agreed to consider on their internal matters in order to realise this programme implementation.
After the meeting, the APTERR Secretariat arranged a field trip to bring all participants to visit ASEAN’s biggest agricultural wholesale market ‘Taladd Thai’ and Ayutthaya province.
