ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
On 18 December 2019, Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager together with Mr. Kenji Okuhira, Japanese Expert and the APTERR staff attended the seminar on ‘Thailand’s Agricultural Economic Situation in 2019 and Outlook in 2020,’ under the theme of “Disruptive Agricultural Technology: National Agricultural Big Data” held at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.
On 28 November 2019, the APTERR Secretariat led by Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager, was invited to participate a joint meeting on “Big Data Development” between the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), as well as the delegation from Talaad Thai, the largest wholesale market for agri-food in the ASEAN region.
On 25 November 2019, Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, was invited by the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand, to attend the meeting on “the strategy on agricultural development and food security policy” with a group of distinguished representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security of Indonesia.
On 22 November 2019, the APTERR Secretariat honorarily welcomed Mr. Rapibhat Chandarasrivongs, the new Secretary General of the Office of Agricultural and Economics (OAE) and Thailand’s APTERR Council, as well as the officials from the International Agricultural Economics Division, to the APTERR Secretariat’s office.
The APTERR Secretariat together with representatives from the Republic of Korea (ROK) were invited to attend the ceremonial handover and distribution of Korea's 500-MT rice to assist people affected by severe floods triggered by tropical storm Podul and tropical depression Kajiki.
