The APTERR Secretariat team, led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, attended the meeting with the officers from Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) of the People’s Republic of China (P.R. China) on 17 September 2023 to discuss about the current update on Tier 3 programme under the P.R. China’s contribution and the preparation of the 12th Meeting of APTERR Council which will be held in 2024 with P.R. China as the host country.

Ms. Liu Xiangzhou, the Deputy Director of Asian and African Affairs, Department of International Cooperation (DIC) of MARA, P.R. China, and her team exchanged views and opinions with APTERR team, focusing on the rice transportation process, warehouse, prepared rice, and feasible collaboration between APTERR and DIC. The meeting went smoothly and ended with fruitful outcomes by the bilateral efforts.
Apart from the meeting, the DIC also generously arranged the field trip to the warehouse of Cainiao, the big logistics company in P.R. China, at Nanning on 15 September 2023 for the APTERR team to visit. The manager of Cainiao warehouse demonstrated their operations to the APTERR team. Both sides also exchanged and shared ideas on the stocked rice, delivery, and rice transportation process.
The APTERR Secretariat is eager to apply the information, knowledge, and opinion gained from the meeting and the warehouse visit on APTERR activities to strengthen the food security in the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) region.
