On 19-20 September 2022, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert and Ms. Sita Kumpol, Secretary to the Japanese Expert, were invited to attend the “Regional Workshop on the Project for Supporting Agricultural Survey on Promoting Sustainable Agriculture in ASEAN Region (SAS-PSA)” hosted by the ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Secretariat at Grande Centre Point Hotel Ratchadamri in Bangkok, Thailand.
The workshop was presided by Mr. Chantanon Wannakejohn, Secretary General of the Office of Agricultural Economic (OAE), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand with the participation of representatives from nine ASEAN member states (except Singapore), Japan as well as Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Kasetsart University, EGIS Global Development Cooperation Centre and private sector.
The aims of SAS-PSA are to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for agricultural productivity improvement and monitor the food security situation in the ASEAN region by using the SDG indicators 2.4.1 under the FAO. This project was funded by the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan through the AFSIS’s implementation.
The 2-day meeting focused on presenting the concept, method, and reporting the outcomes of implementation in three pilot countries in ASEAN namely Cambodia Lao PDR, and Thailand during 2020-2022.
