The APTERR Secretariat led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, welcomed Dr. Cherdsak Virapat, Director General of the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), to attend the meeting on 20 June 2022 at the APTERR Secretariat office in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

The meeting was also participated by Ms. Pongsri Virapat, Thailand National Representative of the Pacific Disaster Center, Mr. Somboon Laoprasert, Inspection and Certification Director of Asia Medical and Agricultural Laboratory and Research Center (AMARC) and the APTERR staff members.

 

  

The objectives of the meeting were to build a good partnership and explore the opportunity for future collaboration between the APTERR and CIRDAP through a fruitful discussion and in-depth experience sharing on food security and integrated rural area development. The meeting also expressed deep appreciation for substantial works of both parties in advocating for the betterment of people’s livelihood in their respective member countries.

 

 

CIRDAP is an intergovernmental organisation established in 1979 with a mission to provide technical support and promote innovative best practices on sustainable Integrated Rural Development (IRD) among its 15 member countries in Asia-Pacific region, including 7 APTERR members from ASEAN, through several focus areas including food security, and climate change’s impact mitigation and resiliency.
