On 28 November 2019, the APTERR Secretariat led by Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee, General Manager, was invited to participate a joint meeting on “Big Data Development” between the Office of Agricultural Economics (OAE) of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), as well as the delegation from Talaad Thai, the largest wholesale market for agri-food in the ASEAN region.
The meeting was organised by the ASEAN Plus Three Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Secretariat and presided by Mr. Rapibhat Chandarasrivongs, Secretary General of OAE and Thailand’s APTERR Council.
The main purpose of the meeting was to share knowledge and experiences, exchange views and techniques on the big data development, along with the discussion, in order to not only improve the efficiency on agricultural data collecting in Thailand but also strengthen food security in the region.
This occasion also provided a great opportunity to the APTERR Secretariat to enhance cooperation with China for further development of APTERR’s activities.
